NEW MASTER IN
INTELLIGENT AVIONICS

The MASTER SCIENCE IN INTELLIGENT AVIONICS is an own right title of the University of Malaga, sponsored and financed entirely by Clue Technologies, and intended for the use of newly graduated engineers, interested in developing their career in the field of electronic systems for aerospace.

The Master will be taught by university professors and recognized experts in the fields of each of the subjects.

The best opportunity to get into the aerospace world, and it’s free

ECTS credits

hours

The MIA program consists of 60 ECTS credits and a teaching load of 600 hours. It is preferably intended for recent graduates (without work experience) who are interested in developing their professional career in the field of electronic systems for aerospace and from the following degrees:

  • Industrial engineer
  • Telecommunications Engineering
  • Informatics Engineering
  • Electronic Engineering, Robotics and Mechatronics

The Master is offered in a presence-based modality and a large part of it will be taught in English, which will require a high level of knowledge in this language, both oral and in writing.

The number of places available for recent graduates is limited to 12 participants. The candidates who have not been selected for admission will become part of a waiting list, in a classification order.

The following criteria will be used for the selection of applications:

  • Academic record
  • High level of English, B2 or similar
  • Research experience in subjects related to the Master
  • References of professors of the Degree title
  • Other merits/accomplishments relevant to the orientation of the Master

The following access tests will be carried out:

  • Verification of the academic records
  • Oral and written test of English
  • Technical test related to the Master’s subject
  • Personal interview with members of Clue Technologies

The MIA will begin in October 2020 and will end in September 2021. It will have a duration of 600 hours distributed over 12 months and will take place at the School of Industrial Engineers of the Campus of the University of Malaga from Monday to Friday from 16:00 to 20:00. The practical classes will take place in the morning.

The registration of the MIA program is 100% financed by Clue Technologies who, at the end of the master’s program, will make a selection of 8 students for their incorporation into the company under an apprenticeship contract.

Students are committed to accept the offer of Clue Technologies if they were within the chosen candidates, or to remain in the job board of the company for a period of 6 months.

Content

MODULE 1. Aerospace Systems and Avionics

The module 1 of the master is an introduction module that provides the student with the technical knowledge necessary to understand how the different systems of an aircraft work, such as the landing gear system, hydraulic, electrical, mission…

MODULE 2. System Engineering

The objective of this module is to provide the concepts and basic knowledge of systems engineering. It will be focused on the processes, methodologies, and tools for any aircraft design and system integration project.

MODULE 3. Mathematics for Intelligent Systems

In this module a scientific training will be taught in the basic and applied aspects of mathematics. It is a preparation and training for the use of the theoretical and practical knowledge acquired, in order to face the subsequent specialized studies that will be taught in the specific modules of the master.

MODULE 4. Real-Time Programming

This module has the objective of transmitting the characteristics and requirements of the real-time systems, and to deal with aspects such as design and programming of these. The module will deal mainly with the development of the temporal requirements of systems that interact with a physical environment with deterministic time response.

MODULE 5. Artificial Intelligence

The objective of this subject is to transmit the bases and methodology of artificial intelligence. For this, the student will be introduced to the different concepts, techniques and fundamental algorithms of the artificial intelligence, as well as the practical application of this knowledge.

MODULE 6. Distributed Systems

In this module, a training in data analysis and analysis of large data volume in companies and organizations will be conducted, with special emphasis on the use of applications based on analytical languages. This training will allow for complex statistical and computational analysis of the same, with the aim of obtaining results to be applied in the aerospace sector.

MODULE 7. Embedded Neural Networks

The module 7 consist of two distinct parts. The first part performs the study of systems based on FPGA or ASIC. The second part makes a study of the different advanced architectures of computers, responsible for describing different basic structures which are present in most of the current computers as graphic and neural processors.

MODULE 8. Data Analytics and Machine Learning

In this module are studied the fundamental concepts to introduce the student to the world of data science (Data Analytics). The objective is to define their usual concepts and put them into practice with real application examples. In addition, the study of machine learning is included in this module, giving a vision of the techniques and learning algorithms existing nowadays.

MODULE 9. Deep Learning and Computer Vision

The student will have a broad view of the main techniques and most used methods as well as a full training in the field of the application of the tools of Deep Learning and  the management and decision-making in different contexts. At the same time, the student will obtain a global vision of the main lines of research in this field.

MODULE 10. Autonomous Flight

The module 10 is focused on the study of methods and practices for the automatic control of manned and unmanned aerial vehicles. In particular, the student will be introduced to the application of non-linear control methods based on artificial intelligence techniques, which will be studied in previous modules, to meet the specific flight criteria and mission currently demanded by the aerospace market.

MODULE 11. Practical Work

During the practical training the student will be on apprenticeship in the installation of Clue Technologies. A tutor will be assigned and a specific project to do during this internship period. At the end of this module, the student must present a report of the work done.

MODULE 12. Final Project

The final project or final master’s project consists in the development of a complete project under the supervision of an industrial or academic tutor. The work must be focused on a topic chosen by the student and bring together the knowledge acquired during the development of the master. The final master’s work will be an oral presentation.
